How often should a marine engine be serviced?
Most manufacturers specify annually or by engine hours, whichever comes first. Low-hour engines still need annual servicing - oil degrades and seals dry out whether the boat is used or not.
Do you service engines you didn't supply?
Yes. Our engineers work on all major marine engine brands, on yachts bought anywhere.
Will servicing elsewhere affect my warranty?
Servicing must be carried out to the manufacturer's schedule and documented. We service to OEM protocols and provide full records, which keeps warranty cover intact.
Can you diagnose a fault remotely?
Sometimes we can narrow it down from a description, a fault code or a photograph, which saves a wasted visit. More often the boat needs to be looked at properly.
When is an engine rebuild worth it rather than a replacement?
It comes down to hours, condition, the availability of parts and what you plan to do with the boat. We'll give you a straight answer, including when the honest answer is neither.
