A heavy sea that used to send everyone below becomes a passage nobody comments on. Lunch at anchor in a swell stops being a negotiation. Guests who were never quite sure about boats discover they're fine after all.
We retrofit the leading stabilisation systems to motor yachts of any brand - not only the ones we sell. If your boat is a Sunseeker, a Princess, a Fairline, an Azimut or something older that you have no intention of parting with, it can almost certainly be stabilised.
Gyro stabilisers work at anchor and underway, and they don't need the boat to be moving to do anything. A spinning flywheel inside a sealed enclosure counteracts roll directly. If most of your time is spent at anchor - swimming, lunching, staying out overnight - this is usually the answer. They take up space in the engine room and add weight, and they're the larger investment.
Fin stabilisers use actively controlled fins either side of the hull. They're highly effective underway and, with modern zero-speed systems, at rest too. Electric fins have moved the category on considerably: they can run without a generator turning, which means less noise, less fuel and less wear.
Interceptors are blades that deploy vertically at the transom, trimming the boat continuously as conditions change. Compact, light and robust, they control pitch as well as roll and can improve acceleration and efficiency into the bargain. They work underway rather than at anchor.
